Mountain Expedition with my Better Half – I

The plan started with the flight booking from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi on 29th of March, 2015. The journey was going to be started on 7th of June’15. The trip was meant for a special reason as we were getting married just before the journey date ūüėõ .¬†Both of us had a very tight schedule at our work place, so did not find a long break for our honeymoon. We could plan only 5 days for the same. We decided to celebrate our togetherness in India, on the mountains (you can’t enjoy anywhere else other than mountains in India during summer ūüėČ ). We wanted the celebration in a different way, i mean; not a cozy and warm honeymoon in hotel rooms only but a mountain expedition to remember the days forever. So we decided to go for Mussoorie, Dehradun and Nainital (The mountain cities of Uttarakhand). I booked our flight tickets through¬†Domestic Airlines.

7th of june, we reached New Delhi Airport on time according to the Flight Schedule.I had some work in my office. So, we stayed in Delhi for next two days. I completed my work. There were lot of packing and preparation going on. It was turning out to be a hectic trip. Somehow we managed to reach the Nizamuddin railway station by 8:30 pm on 10th of June to start the journey. We had our booking in Dehradun Express at 9:10 pm. Niru had to speed post some important documents related to her work. We started searching the RMS in the station. After 15 minutes we found it but they refused to speed post the document at that hour. We ran to catch our train.

Niru asked me to drink some water and we started setting our bedding. It was 11th June, morning around 6:30 am. We booked a taxi from Dehradun railway station and reached Mussoorie at around 8:00 am. We had room booked in The Perfect Hideout Resort, Mussoorie for next two days. I had requested the resort manager to arrange a room for us before we would checked in at 11:00 am. Everything was arranged before we reached there. We got refreshed with the welcome drink at the lawn of the resort. The resort actually justifies to its name. After getting refreshed we had our breakfast in the lawn only. We checked into our room and had nice bath with cool mountain water. Then we had a deep sleep for around 2 hours. We woke up at around 2:30 pm. I just reminded Niru that she had to speed post the documents. We got ready and I called the reception desk to book a cab for us for the Mussoorie city as the resort is 4 km away from the city.

Niru was very much excited for a mountain bike ride. I was little confident about riding a bike in mountain road, but did not want to spoil her mood. We kept on waiting for the cab for more than 1 hour. It was around 4:00 pm. We were afraid whether we would be able to reach the post office before 5:00 pm or not. I was repeatedly asking the manager when the cab would reach!!!
